Final Countdown

We are officially down to *days* before we leave.. And there's still a ton to do. I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed with it all, and probably will be until we set foot on the plane. Needless to say, until then, the next few days are going to be ca-ra-zy. I still have to:
-Go to the bank and exchange currency
-Finish getting the last-minute things on our list
-Clean the house
-Go to THREE doctor's appointments. Yes, three in two days.
-Make sure all the bills are paid that will be due before we get back (which is a lot!!)
-Run to BYU and get a few things done for Mike
-Figure out healthy snacks to take on the plane (any suggestions???)
-And of course, pack, pack, pack.
I've started to get things rounded up to pack, and needless to say, our living room looks like a tornado came through. Ugh. It's time to be going MIA for the next few weeks.. See you all when we get back in the States and the jet lag has semi-worn off! I'll have LOADS of fun things to show/tell, so prepare yourself for future blog post overload! Ciao!

Out With the Old, in With the New

It's time my trusty running shoes were retired.. Mike wanted me to get good running shoes before we leave, so I got myself these beauties today!
What a difference! I didn't get blisters on my feet, or re-injure my calves again, they fit right, correct my stride, and are *super* light. Pretty sure I shaved FOUR minutes off my 2.5 mile time (down from 27 to 23). I'm excited to see what my 3.5 mile time is tomorrow!

Giggles

You know sometimes when you have family scriptures and prayers and something happens and you can't stop laughing? We had one of those moments a few nights ago; it went something like this:

Mike was reading in 1 Nephi 15, and in the middle of verse four, Mike lets one rip. And I mean he *REALLY* let it rip. The best part was, he just kept reading:

"...because of the things which I had seen, and knew they must unavoidably come to pass because of the great wickedness (he actually said 'windiness' on accident here) of the children of men.
 v. 5 And it came to pass that I was overcome because of my afflictions, for I considered that mine afflictions were great above all, because of the destruction of my people, for I had beheld their fall.
 v. 6 And it came to pass that after I had received strength spake unto my brethren, desiring to know of them the cause of their disputations."

Needless to say, it wasn't long before we couldn't contain the giggles, and scriptures for the night were done. I was laughing so hard I was crying. Heavenly Father has to have a sense of humor.. Sometimes it's just plain hard to be reverent during family scriptures!
